Our handyman rates
We have two hourly rates. Which one you pay depends on the tools the job needs. All prices include Danish VAT (moms), and we charge for a minimum of one hour.
| Type of work | Hourly rate | Typical jobs |
|---|---|---|
| Handyman work | 579 DKK | Hanging pictures, lamps, shelves, TVs and curtains. Furniture assembly. |
| Carpentry work | 679 DKK | Kitchen fitting, skirting boards, sticking doors, sheds, decking and plasterboard walls. |
On top of the hourly rate there is a fixed start fee of 399 DKK per visit. It’s the same for every job.
What does the start fee cover?
- Transport within central Copenhagen (København C)
- Standard screws, wall plugs and nails
- Wear on tools and drill bits
Because the fee is fixed, you can work out the price in advance. It also means the longer we stay, the cheaper each hour gets, since you only pay the fee once.
Price examples for handyman work
| Time at your place | Total incl. VAT |
|---|---|
| 1 hour | 978 DKK |
| 2 hours | 1,557 DKK |
| 3 hours | 2,136 DKK |
| 5 hours | 3,294 DKK |
In one hour we can usually hang 5–10 pictures or shelves, fit a couple of lamps or assemble one or two smaller pieces of furniture.
What else can end up on the bill?
- Materials: If we buy something for you, you pay cost price plus the time the shopping takes.
- Travel outside the centre: If you live outside København C, a fixed travel charge is added.
- Evenings and nights: Work from 19:00 to 23:00 is +50 % on the hourly rate, and from 23:00 to 07:00 it is +100 %.
- Trailer: If larger materials need moving, a trailer costs 330 DKK.
Why is a handyman cheaper than a carpenter?
In Denmark, “handyman” isn’t a protected trade title. It covers practical help around the home in general, so the price is usually a little below that of a trained craftsman. In return you get one person who can handle lots of small jobs in the same visit. In the Copenhagen area a handyman typically costs between 500 and 800 DKK an hour.
Part of the reason our price is low is that we cycle. The bike costs almost nothing to run and we don’t pay for parking. We pass that saving on to you.
Three tips to keep the bill down
Henrik’s tip: You pay for our time at your place. Every minute we don’t spend searching, unpacking or moving things is money you save.
1. Have everything ready
Take the furniture out of the box and lay out the instructions. Have the lamp, shelf or TV bracket ready, and decide in advance where things should go.
2. Give us room to work
Move furniture and belongings away from the wall or floor where we’ll be working. Good light helps too.
3. Bundle your jobs into one visit
The start fee is per visit. Write the whole list when you book, and we’ll do it all in one go.
