Shelves that stay put
Shelves give a home space and calm. But a shelf that hangs crooked or starts to tilt after six months does more harm than good. It usually happens because the wrong plugs were used for the wall.
We put up shelves on concrete, brick, lightweight concrete and plasterboard. On plasterboard we use special plugs or find the studs behind the board, so the shelf can take books too. Just have the shelf ready. We bring drill bits, plugs and screws and clean up when we’re done.
Floating shelves
Floating shelves have hidden brackets and look as if they grow straight out of the wall. They’re calm to look at and take up less visual space. They do need more precision than ordinary shelves, though. The bracket has to be perfectly level and well anchored, because all the weight rests on a few screws.
Henrik’s tip: Tell us what the shelf will hold when you book. A row of books weighs far more than a few ornaments, and that decides which brackets we bring.
Larger woodwork jobs
We also fit bookcases, wall-mounted cabinets and wall panelling. The photo at the top is from a job where we covered a whole wall with wooden acoustic panels, floor to ceiling with a straight top edge. That kind of job is carpentry work at 679 DKK an hour.
What does it cost to put up a shelf?
Standard shelf installation costs 579 DKK an hour incl. VAT plus a 399 DKK start fee. The fee covers transport in central Copenhagen, screws and plugs. In one hour we usually manage 5–10 shelves, depending on their size, how much they need to hold and what wall we’re drilling into.
Pictures or lamps to go up too? We’ll do it in the same visit.
